One of the challenges of starting a blog is having stunning images to go along with a well-written blog post. Unless a blogger is adept at photography, there is a need to source out photos to post on a blog or on social media. Every blog post comes alive with striking photos. Thankfully, there are alot of sites that provide beautiful stock free images for blogs.

If you are just starting out and is quite stressed at how you can manage without any images you can use on your site, don’t fret! Royalty free images will add personality to your blog.

These sites have the best galleries of free images for blogs that you can download.

1.Life of Pix

Life of Pix has a gallery full of high-resolution and free images for blogs for both personal and commercial use. The images are donated by a network of photographers and fresh photographs are added every week. Check out featured photos on their Photographer of the Week section where 10 photographs are highlighted weekly.


Rawpixel has a diverse set of stock photos that are out of the ordinary. Their team of photographers wants to maintain a unique creativity with their photos and wants to share inspirational design and spectacular images to others. They do not want people to go mainstream but rather encourage authenticity through their photos.


Skitterphoto has their photos in public domain. They are arranged in categories that are quite diverse. You can search and download photos then use or edit them at your whim. They even allow having the photos be used commercially. Photographers may also join in and either show or share their photos to the public.

The pictures are personal shots of the author and he encourages everyone to use those photos to be more creative and awesome in their fields whether as a blogger, developer, marketers, and even companies.


With more than 5 million downloads, it’s hard to believe that Kaboompics is single-handedly managed by its creator. Karolina is photographer, graphic designer, and a website developer. Big websites like CNN, BBC, Yahoo, Forbes, BuzzFeed, and all other blogs about lifestyle, interior design, etc. have used free images from Kaboompics.


Unsplash has a generous array of beautiful pictures available for free download. These high-resolution photos are collected in a huge library that is updated daily. The site conceptualized the site as a quick, safe, and free source of photos that can be used by anyone whether for a blog post or as part of the blog design.

9.Styled Stock

Styled Stock is one of those stock photo sites that has plenty of stylish photos perfect for any lifestyle blog. What makes it unique is that aside from the usual wide sorting categories, you can filter the images by color. This is great for those who want the photos to blend with the blog’s theme.

10.Shot Stash

LibreShot is a typical stock photography site that is made by only a single entity. The site and all photos are all owned by a man named Martin Vorel. He wants to extend help to web and graphic designers, bloggers, journalists, and basically anyone who needs photos for their creative projects.


Unlike a photo stock site, PhotoPin is a handy tool any blogger can use to search for free images for blogs. It is more of a search engine where a user search for a particular photo using tags or keywords. PhotoPin will then search photos with the creative common license. It uses the Flickr API to power the search results. Using Flickr, home to a billion stock photos, is a sensible way of finding a particular photo. This is, by far, the easiest way to search for free stock photos.
